Mexico City
While in Buenos Aires I was able to find an affordable ticket to Mexico City. My good friend Judah has been living in Mexico for several years and has a young family and a new business: a Mezcal company called Mezcal Vago. Visiting my friend was a motivating factor in deciding to visit Mexico before returning to the states, also still waiting out the winter in Colorado and milking the beuatiful life of a simple vagabond.
arriving at Santiago's house |
Arrived in Mexico City just before noon and assembled my bike and found a phone to call my friend Santiago whom I met in BA, after getting directions to his place I got some tacos and then merged with Mexico City traffic. I stayed in the capital city for 2 or 3 days and then boarded a bus to the city of Oaxaca in the state of Oaxaca, arrived on a saturday evening and spent the next week helping Judah with lableling bottles of mezcal and various other tasks which he needed help with. One day we journeyed up to the mezcal distillary and home of his father in law, in the mountains outside of the city. It was a privledge to see this old ranch in the middle of no where where Mezal has been made for many generations. After a week in Oaxaca and then rode to Zipotle beach which took three days of riding up and over the mountains and then a long and twisty road leading to the pacific coast.
