route through New Zealand and Australia |
After close to five months bike touring around New Zealand, Australia and Indonesia I concluded my trip in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. It was a fantastic journey covering approximately 6000km on my bicycle. Here are some of the highlights of the trip:
- riding through the pristine mountains of the south Island of New Zealand.
- following the east coast of Tasmania to Hobart and Bruny Island.
- riding along the coastal route from Melbourne to Sydney.
- Ubud, Bali and the amazing stupa complex of Borobudur in Central Java.
On the last day of the trip on a Sunday afternoon my friend Aik took me to a hindu festival on the coast. It was a nice way to conclude the journey and I felt a sense of closure to the trip. So I am now back in Boulder Colorado just in time for the lovely Colorado spring weather.
